March 27, 2024 - Nominating petitions available for parties interested in running for a seat on the Board of Education. Please contact the School District Clerk in the VVS District Office at 315-829-2520 ext. 7101.
May 1, 2024 - Nominating petitions must be filed with the School District Clerk by 5:00 PM. Contact the District Clerk at 315-829-2520 ext. 7101.
Tuesday, May 21, 2024 - Board of Education Election & Budget Vote - 12 Noon - 9PM - at the Vernon Town Hall, the Verona Fire Station and the Sherrill CAC.
Wednesday, May 22, 2024 - 7:00 PM, the Board of Education meets to declare the results of the canvas of the rolls and to approve the result of the budget vote and board election and further direct the Clerk to notify the persons selected in accordance with Section 2610. Subsection 5 of Education Law.
Mandatory NYS Training: As a new school board member, there are two mandated training sessions that all new school board members must complete by the end of their first year of service:
- New School Board of Education Training (6 hours)
- Fiscal Oversight Training (6 hours)
Details on these trainings will be shared as a part of the petition packet.
