    Philosophy of Education: US History
Every student deserves the opportunity to be successful and must have an  environment that is conducive to learning.  Tests simulate Regents style questions. Essays develop communication skills. Reading and vocabulary prepare students for daily lessons and increase understand of the topics cover in US History.  A student's time is valuable.  I do not give busy work or meaningless homework assignments.  All tests, essays, and homework assignments will be reviewed in class to check for understanding. In accordance with the District's homework policy, all assignments taken for a grade are given comments to be used for revision prior to taking a final grade.  Homework is an essential ingredient to a student's knowledge level of US History and, since students will be more knowledgeable, promotes more student involvement in class discussions. Students are expected to complete all assignments.  Deadlines will be reasonable and expected to be met.

Philosophy of Education: Economics and MVCC Economics
Every student deserves the opportunity to be successful and must have an environment that is conducive to learning. Economics is challenging in the "real world".  Our classroom will strive to create an environment that focus on practical applications and problem solving.  Students are responsible for learning by reading, preparing for tests, and completing assignments.  The teacher is responsible for facilitating learning through activities, lessons, and projects.  Hands on learning is not only the most effective, but also the most fun to be involved in.  Economics can be fun to learn about as its concepts are incredibly practical.  In accordance with the District's homework policy, all assignments taken for a grade are given comments to be used for revision prior to taking a final grade.  Homework is an essential ingredient to a student's knowledge level of economics and, since students will be more knowledgeable, promotes more student involvement in class discussions.
