• A Little Information About Mrs. Todora

To begin, I received my Master's Degree from Le Moyne College.  My degree is in Inclusive Childhood Education.  I have 3 years of substitute teaching experience at the VVS School District.  In addition, I have taught full time at J.D. George for 2 years. I have become familiar with the district's expectations and overall structure of the school system.  It is a great honor to be a 6th grade teacher at J.D. George Elementary and I will continue to effectively educate the students in my classroom.

I greatly enjoy interacting with students. They have the positive, happy energy that seems to just be contagious.  As a teacher, you could be having a bad day, and as soon as you walk into the classroom, you forget about all of your worries.  Being a teacher allows you to constantly gain new knowledge.  I believe that everyone learns something new everyday.  Teachers learn from their coworkers, students, and parents.  I strongly agree with the saying that knowledge is power and without knowledge, a person is a blank slate.  Teaching allows a person to learn new things as they educate young minds.  Reading about new concepts is very important to me and with teaching, I will be able to integrate that information into the classroom.

    My Philosophy of Grading:

My philosophy of grading is simple: you earn your grade.  Participation, active learning, and excellent work ethic are all essential components of the classroom.  Increased level of effort in the classroom will result in a better grade overall.  It is imperative to continuously improve and work diligently to achieve the best grade possible.
