About Kathy Stewart
After 33 years as a library media specialist in the Vernon Verona Sherrill School District, I retired in June, 2008, and started a new career as the district's Instructional Technology Coordinator. My new position gives me the opportunity to investigate different ways to help the VVS teachers integrate technology into their daily lessons. I truly believe technology can enhance and enrich the classroom experience for every child and teacher and enjoy the role I can have in helping the VVS learning community see the possibilities.
I have been married to my husband, Marshall, for over 40 years. He is also going through his own job transition - easing out his former life as a sales rep and into a new phase as a singer/songwriter. Since he is passionate about his new career, he understands better than most why I have decided to add a new chapter to my career as an educator.
We have one daughter, Caitlin, who is the Conservation Educator at a NYS Soil and Water Conservation District. She and her husband Matt live in the Adirondacks, where they pursue a wide variety of outdoor activities.
We all love photography, kayaking, winter sports, all kinds of animals, and traveling to as many different parts of the world as possible. In addition, I also love to read, and to collect new and different tech toys. That's why this position is perfect for me. So much technology, so little time!
