VVS HEAT INDEX AND WIND CHILL ADVISORY GUIDELINES

Heat index and wind chill will be assessed by the building designee using the WeatherBug app and the zip code for the respective school building. Each school building will assess heat index and wind chill individually given the variant weather-related factors and will adhere to the procedures listed below for decisions around student activities.  This protocol serves as a guideline for student activities; extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.

Additional information regarding Heat Index Procedures for athletic activities can be found at http://www.nysphsaa.org/Portals/0/PDF/Safety/Heat%20Index%20Procedure.pdf.
