• Philosophy of Education

    We believe that our students have the right to learn in a safe school and classroom community.  We provide our students with the skills and knowledge which will enable them to become independent, responsible, respectful and productive citizens.  

     

     

     
     
    Philosophy of Grading:

     

    Our curriculum is taught through the introduction of skills, daily practice, quizzes, and tests. Grading reflects an average of performance based upon assessments and quizzes that demonstrate knowledge as it relates to our district prioritized curriculum guides and the New York State Standards. Homework is not graded, but is used as a means of daily evaluation.  Resources include district textbooks,  Effective Communicator Writing Program, Sitton Word Study program, and other supplemental materials to support our curriculum.

     

    Quizzes are weighed 50%. Tests are weighed 50%.
