• Philosophy of Education
We believe that our students have the right to learn in a safe school and classroom community.  We provide our students with the skills and knowledge which will enable them to become independent, responsible, respectful and productive citizens.

Our students have many opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, which are based on District Curricula and New York State Standards.  Grades are calculated by taking an average of student performance, based upon assessments, quizzes and classroom activities.  Resources include district textbook programs, Effective Communicator and a variety of supplemental materials for all subject areas.

    Philosophy of Grading
My philosophy of grading is based on student learning in a safe and risk-taking environment. Students "earn" their grades. Student grades consist of assessments and quizzes that reflect New York State standards. Student grades reflect the knowledge of content that the student has mastered.

Quizzes are weighed 50%.  Tests are weighed 50%.
