    My Philosophy of Grading:  All quizzes will be averaged and weighted as 40% of a student's overall grade in each subject.  All unit tests, quarterlies, and final assessments will be averaged and weighted as 60% of a student's overall grade in each subject. These weighted averages will be combined to form the student's overall grade for each subject on a quarterly basis.

     

    My Philosophy of Teaching:  This starts with creating an atmosphere in the classroom for learning.  It is safe to be wrong when searching for answers and understand we are all here to learn and respect one another.  Once this is established, we can then begin to explore the content areas of math, science, reading, writing, and social studies.  Through a combination of visual, verbal, and hands-on activities, students are guided through different lessons based on district established curriculum.  Students are expected to work to the best of their own abilities and not hinder the learning of others.  As a result of classwork, homework and study guides, students will be assessed on these experiences and effort they have put forth in and out of the classroom.  It is my job to provide this opportunity for students and challenge them with the appropriate rigor.
